Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The Measles and Rubella Combined Vaccine (Live) is a bivalent, live attenuated vaccine developed by Shenzhen Kangtai Biological Products (also known as Shenzhen Kangde). It is designed to provide active immunity against both measles and rubella in a single administration. The vaccine contains attenuated strains of the *Measles morbillivirus* and *Rubella virus*, which stimulate the production of protective antibodies without causing the full-blown disease. Approved and launched in China in September 2013, it is primarily indicated for the prevention of measles and rubella in children, typically administered via subcutaneous injection. This combination vaccine simplifies the immunization schedule and improves coverage for these two highly contagious viral infections.
