Overview

**MEC + MVAC** is a combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of the sequential or concurrent administration of the MEC protocol (typically composed of mitoxantrone, etoposide, and cytarabine) and the MVAC protocol (methotrexate, vinblastine, doxorubicin, and cisplatin). While the MVAC regimen is a well-established treatment for advanced urothelial carcinoma (especially bladder cancer)[1][2][3][6][7], the MEC regimen is more commonly used for leukemias but may be considered for different cancers in investigational or off-label settings. This combination incorporates cytotoxic agents targeting DNA replication and mitosis.
