Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Mecobalamin + Vitamin B6 is a combination nutritional supplement containing mecobalamin (the bioactive coenzyme form of Vitamin B12) and pyridoxine (Vitamin B6). Mecobalamin is essential for neurological health, acting as a cofactor for methionine synthase, which facilitates the conversion of homocysteine to methionine—a process critical for myelin sheath formation and nerve regeneration. Pyridoxine serves as a precursor to pyridoxal phosphate, a coenzyme involved in the synthesis of neurotransmitters such as serotonin, dopamine, and GABA, as well as in amino acid metabolism. This combination is primarily utilized for the management of peripheral neuropathy, diabetic neuropathy, and B-vitamin deficiencies. It is marketed by Ind Blues Pharma as a generic pharmaceutical product.
