Mecobalamin + Wenyang Tongbi Granules is an investigational combination therapy being evaluated for the treatment of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN). The combination consists of mecobalamin, a neurologically active form of vitamin B12 that promotes nerve repair and myelin synthesis, and Wenyang Tongbi Granules, a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formulation. Wenyang Tongbi Granules is designed based on the TCM therapeutic principles of warming yang (Wenyang) and unblocking impediment (Tongbi) to alleviate pain and paresthesia. The therapy is currently being studied in a Phase 1 clinical trial sponsored by the Cancer Institute and Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, specifically in patients with breast or colorectal cancer experiencing CIPN.
