Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MEDI-517 + aluminum hydroxide is a combination vaccine candidate consisting of the HPV-16/18 virus-like particle (VLP) vaccine (MEDI-517) formulated with the adjuvant aluminum hydroxide. MEDI-517 is designed to induce an immune response against human papillomavirus (HPV) types 16 and 18, which are associated with a significant proportion of cervical and other anogenital cancers. The addition of aluminum hydroxide as an adjuvant is intended to enhance the immunogenicity of the VLPs by promoting stronger and more persistent antibody responses. The vaccine is administered via intramuscular injection and has been evaluated for immunogenicity and safety in healthy adult females.
