Overview
MEDI-522 + dacarbazine is a combination therapy comprising MEDI-522, a humanized monoclonal antibody that specifically targets the αvβ3 integrin, and dacarbazine (DTIC), an alkylating antineoplastic agent. MEDI-522 functions as an antiangiogenic and antitumor agent by inhibiting the αvβ3 integrin, which is implicated in tumor angiogenesis and metastatic progression. Dacarbazine is a cytotoxic chemotherapy used in various cancers, including melanoma. This combination has been clinically evaluated in metastatic melanoma, aiming to synergistically inhibit tumor growth and vascularization by combining targeted monoclonal antibody therapy with traditional chemotherapy[1][2][4].
