Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination regimen consisting of three drugs—medroxyprogesterone, cyclophosphamide, and methotrexate. Cyclophosphamide is an alkylating agent that interferes with DNA replication and RNA transcription, leading to cell death. Methotrexate is an antimetabolite that inhibits dihydrofolate reductase, blocking DNA synthesis and cell proliferation. Medroxyprogesterone is a synthetic progestin hormone with antiestrogenic effects used in some cancer regimens for its hormonal activity. This combination has been explored primarily in the context of advanced or metastatic breast cancer as part of metronomic (low-dose continuous) chemotherapy strategies aimed at reducing toxicity while maintaining efficacy through antiangiogenic mechanisms.
