Melan-A VLP vaccine + IMP321 is an investigational combination immunotherapy designed for the treatment of melanoma. The Melan-A VLP vaccine consists of the melanocyte differentiation antigen Melan A (also known as MART-1) encapsulated in noninfectious virus-like particles (VLPs), which are engineered to stimulate a robust immune response against melanoma cells expressing this antigen[1][3]. IMP321, also known as LAG-3Ig or eftilagimod alpha, is an immune adjuvant that acts as an agonist of MHC class II molecules on antigen-presenting cells, enhancing T cell activation and amplifying anti-tumor immunity. The combination aims to induce strong tumor-specific CD8+ T cell responses by presenting the Melan-A antigen in a highly immunogenic format and boosting dendritic cell function via IMP321. This approach leverages both direct vaccination against a tumor-associated antigen and broad immune system activation to improve clinical outcomes in patients with melanoma[3].
