Meloxicam + dexlansoprazole is a fixed-dose combination of two pharmaceutical agents. Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins involved in inflammation and pain. Dexlansoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that suppresses gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the H+/K+-ATPase enzyme system at the secretory surface of gastric parietal cells. The combination may be used to manage pain or inflammation while reducing the risk of NSAID-induced gastrointestinal injury, such as ulcers or gastritis, by providing gastroprotection through acid suppression[5][7]. Meloxicam is primarily indicated for osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, while dexlansoprazole is indicated for conditions involving excess stomach acid such as GERD and erosive esophagitis.
