Overview

MenACYW-DTaP-IPV-Hib-HepB (SP0230) is an investigational, multi-antigen combination vaccine developed by Sanofi to streamline the pediatric immunization schedule. It integrates protection against seven major pathogens: Neisseria meningitidis (serogroups A, C, Y, and W), Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Clostridium tetani, Bordetella pertussis, poliovirus (types 1, 2, and 3), hepatitis B virus, and Haemophilus influenzae type b. The vaccine utilizes a combination of toxoids, inactivated viruses, recombinant proteins, and polysaccharide-protein conjugates (likely using tetanus toxoid as the carrier). By combining these components into a single injection, the vaccine aims to reduce the number of shots required during infancy, thereby improving parental adherence to vaccination schedules and increasing coverage for invasive meningococcal disease. It is currently undergoing Phase 3 clinical evaluation to demonstrate safety and immunologic non-inferiority compared to separately administered licensed vaccines.
