Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Meningococcal (groups A, C, Y and W-135) oligosaccharide diphtheria CRM197 conjugate vaccine is a quadrivalent conjugate vaccine used for active immunization to prevent invasive disease caused by Neisseria meningitidis serogroups A, C, Y, and W-135. The vaccine contains capsular polysaccharides from each of these four serogroups individually conjugated to the non-toxic mutant diphtheria protein carrier CRM197. This conjugation enhances the immune response by promoting T-cell dependent immunity and immunological memory. It does not protect against infections caused by N. meningitidis serogroup B or other pathogens[1][2][3][5]. The primary indication is prevention of invasive meningococcal disease in individuals aged 2 months through 55 years[1][2][9].
