Overview

This is a **combination product** consisting of a recombinant meningococcal B vaccine (options include Bexsero or Trumenba, which contain proteins such as Neisserial adhesin A, Neisserial heparin-binding antigen, factor H binding protein, and outer membrane vesicles[4][3][6]) co-administered with an **antipyretic** agent, typically paracetamol (acetaminophen)[2]. The vaccine is designed to stimulate an immune response against Neisseria meningitidis serogroup B, helping to prevent invasive disease. The antipyretic is included to reduce the risk or severity of post-vaccination fever and other systemic reactions. Studies suggest prophylactic paracetamol can decrease fever occurrence following vaccination, without clinically significant reduction in immunogenicity in the context of meningococcal B vaccines[2]; however, broader use of antipyretics with vaccines has sometimes resulted in reduced antibody responses for other vaccines, so recommendations vary by product and region[5].
