Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Meningococcal conjugate vaccine, quadrivalent is an active immunizing agent used to prevent infection caused by Neisseria meningitidis serogroups A, C, W, and Y. The vaccine works by stimulating the body to produce antibodies against these specific serogroups of meningococcal bacteria. It does not protect against serogroup B meningococcal disease. The vaccine helps prevent meningococcal meningitis (infection of the brain and spinal cord) and meningococcemia (infection of the blood), which can be life-threatening or cause serious long-term disabilities.
