Overview

GSK134612 + Infanrix hexa refers to the co-administration of GlaxoSmithKline's investigational tetravalent meningococcal serogroups A, C, W-135, and Y-tetanus toxoid conjugate vaccine (GSK134612, later branded as Nimenrix) with the licensed hexavalent vaccine Infanrix hexa. GSK134612 is a conjugate vaccine targeting *Neisseria meningitidis* bacteria using capsular polysaccharides from four serogroups conjugated to a tetanus toxoid carrier protein. Infanrix hexa is a combined vaccine providing protection against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (acellular), hepatitis B (rDNA), poliomyelitis (inactivated), and *Haemophilus influenzae* type b. Clinical trials evaluated the safety and immunogenicity of giving these two vaccines concurrently to infants and toddlers aged 12-23 months, demonstrating that co-administration does not interfere with the immune response or safety profile of either vaccine compared to separate administration.
