Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MenQuadfi is a quadrivalent conjugate vaccine developed by Sanofi Pasteur for the prevention of invasive meningococcal disease caused by *Neisseria meningitidis* serogroups A, C, W-135, and Y. The vaccine contains capsular polysaccharides from each of the four serogroups, individually conjugated to a tetanus toxoid protein carrier. This conjugation enhances the immune response by engaging T-cells, leading to higher antibody titers and the induction of immunological memory, which is particularly important for infants and young children. MenQuadfi was approved by the U.S. FDA in 2020 for use in individuals 6 weeks of age and older and is administered as a single intramuscular injection. It does not provide protection against serogroup B meningococcal disease.
