Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The Group ACYW135 Meningococcal Conjugate Vaccine (MCV4) developed by Ningbo Rong'an Biological Pharmaceutical (a subsidiary of AIM Vaccine) is a quadrivalent vaccine designed to prevent invasive meningococcal disease caused by *Neisseria meningitidis* serogroups A, C, Y, and W135. Unlike traditional polysaccharide vaccines, this conjugate vaccine chemically links the capsular polysaccharides of the four serogroups to a carrier protein. This conjugation technology converts the T-cell independent polysaccharides into T-cell dependent antigens, which induces a more robust immune response, particularly in infants and young children, and promotes long-term immunological memory. The vaccine is administered via intramuscular injection and has received regulatory approval in China.
