meningococcal group A, C, Y and W135 conjugate vaccine

The meningococcal group A, C, Y and W135 conjugate vaccine developed by Amvex Biopharmaceuticals (a subsidiary of Aim Vaccine) is a quadrivalent vaccine designed to prevent invasive meningococcal disease caused by Neisseria meningitidis serogroups A, C, Y, and W-135. The vaccine consists of capsular polysaccharide antigens from each of the four serogroups, each individually conjugated to a carrier protein, typically CRM197 (a non-toxic mutant of diphtheria toxin). This conjugation process converts the T-cell independent polysaccharide antigens into T-cell dependent antigens, which significantly enhances immunogenicity, particularly in infants and young children, and induces long-term immunological memory. The vaccine is primarily indicated for active immunization against meningococcal infection and is currently in late-stage clinical development in China.
