Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Green Bamboo MenAC conjugate vaccine is a bivalent meningococcal vaccine developed by Beijing Green Bamboo Pharmaceutical. It is designed to prevent invasive meningococcal disease caused by *Neisseria meningitidis* serogroups A and C. The vaccine consists of purified capsular polysaccharides from these two serogroups, each covalently conjugated to a carrier protein (typically tetanus toxoid) to convert the T-independent polysaccharide antigens into T-dependent antigens. This conjugation significantly improves immunogenicity and the induction of immune memory, especially in infants and young children. The vaccine has been marketed in China since 2008 and is frequently utilized as a reference or comparator in clinical trials for newer meningococcal vaccines, such as quadrivalent (MenACYW) conjugates.
