Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pentavalent meningococcal vaccine (MenABCWY) designed to provide broad protection against the five most common serogroups of Neisseria meningitidis (A, B, C, W, and Y). These vaccines combine the components of a quadrivalent meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MenACWY) with a meningococcal group B vaccine (MenB). Pfizer's Penbraya combines the components of Trumenba (MenB) and Nimenrix (MenACWY-TT). GSK's Penmenvy combines components from Bexsero (MenB) and Menveo (MenACWY-CRM). They are administered as an intramuscular injection to prevent invasive meningococcal disease, including meningitis and septicemia, by inducing bactericidal antibodies against bacterial surface antigens.
