Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Meningococcal polysaccharide vaccine, groups A, C, Y, and W-135 combined** is an unconjugated quadrivalent capsular-polysaccharide vaccine formerly marketed in the United States as **Menomune A/C/Y/W-135** by Sanofi. It contains purified group-specific capsular polysaccharides from *Neisseria meningitidis* serogroups A, C, Y, and W-135 and induces serogroup-specific anti-capsular bactericidal antibody responses for active immunization against invasive meningococcal disease. Unlike MenACWY conjugate vaccines, it does not covalently link its polysaccharide antigens to a carrier protein. Menomune was administered as a reconstituted subcutaneous injection and is no longer commercially available in the United States.
