Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of mesalazine (also known as mesalamine), an aminosalicylate drug, and vitamin D (cholecalciferol). This combination has been studied for the treatment of ulcerative colitis. Research indicates that vitamin D supplementation enhances the effectiveness of mesalazine in patients with mild to moderate ulcerative colitis by improving Mayo scores, enhancing intestinal barrier function, and reducing inflammatory factors. The combination shows no significant safety concerns compared to conventional treatment alone.
