Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosomes (MSC-Exos) from Guangdong ProCapZoom Biosciences are an investigational cell-free therapy designed to treat the ocular complications of Sjögren's syndrome. These exosomes are nano-sized extracellular vesicles secreted by mesenchymal stem cells, containing a diverse payload of proteins, lipids, and regulatory RNAs. When formulated as eye drops, they function by modulating the local immune response on the ocular surface and within the lacrimal glands. The therapy aims to suppress the chronic inflammation and lymphocytic infiltration that lead to tear film dysfunction and corneal damage in Sjögren's patients. By delivering anti-inflammatory signals and promoting tissue regeneration, MSC-Exos offer a potential alternative to traditional immunosuppressive eye drops.
