This experimental cell therapy, developed by the Man Clinic for Andrology, Male Infertility and Sexual Dysfunction, utilizes autologous bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BM-MSCs) for the treatment of non-obstructive azoospermia in patients with Klinefelter syndrome (47,XXY). The procedure involves the aspiration of bone marrow, separation of MSCs, and subsequent micro-surgical injection into the testicular tubules and the intratesticular artery. The therapy aims to restore spermatogenesis in men who have failed previous testicular sperm extraction (TESE) attempts. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials (notably NCT02414295) to assess its impact on sperm production and hormonal profiles over a follow-up period of three to twelve months.
