Overview

This investigational cell therapy consists of ex vivo-expanded mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) derived from HLA-mismatched bone marrow. Developed by Nanfang Hospital of Southern Medical University, the therapy is being evaluated for the treatment of engraftment failure (graft failure) following autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (auto-HSCT). MSCs are multipotent stem cells characterized by their immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, and regenerative properties. They express specific surface markers including CD29, CD44, CD73, CD90, CD105, and CD166, and are capable of differentiating into osteogenic, adipogenic, and chondrogenic lineages. In the context of hematopoietic transplantation, these cells are intended to support the recovery of the bone marrow microenvironment and facilitate the engraftment of hematopoietic stem cells.
