Overview

Mesenchymal trophic factor (MTF) is an allogeneic, cell-free biologic therapeutic derived from the secretome of human umbilical cord tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSCs). Developed by Translational Biosciences, the product consists of a complex mixture of regenerative and immunomodulatory factors, including cytokines, growth factors, and extracellular vesicles (exosomes), harvested from MSC conditioned media. MTF is designed to leverage the paracrine signaling potential of stem cells without the risks associated with live cell transplantation. In clinical studies for asthma, it is administered via the intranasal route to deliver bioactive components directly to the respiratory tract, where they aim to suppress chronic airway inflammation, reduce hyperresponsiveness, and promote tissue repair.
