Metformin + rosuvastatin

Metformin + rosuvastatin is a fixed-dose combination of two small molecule drugs commonly used together to address comorbid metabolic and cardiovascular conditions. Metformin is an oral antihyperglycemic agent primarily indicated for type 2 diabetes mellitus; it acts by decreasing hepatic glucose production and improving insulin sensitivity. Rosuvastatin is a statin that competitively inhibits 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A reductase (HMG-CoA reductase), the rate-limiting enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis, leading to reduced plasma LDL cholesterol and triglycerides while modestly increasing HDL cholesterol[6][3].
