Overview

MEDA is a combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of methotrexate, etoposide, dexamethasone, and pegaspargase. It is primarily investigated for the treatment of advanced-stage (Stage IV) extranodal natural killer/T-cell lymphoma (ENKTL), nasal type. The regimen combines an antimetabolite (methotrexate), a topoisomerase II inhibitor (etoposide), a corticosteroid (dexamethasone), and an enzyme that depletes asparagine (pegaspargase). This combination is often followed by autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (Auto-HSCT) to consolidate remission in patients with this aggressive subtype of non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
