Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of three disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) - methotrexate, sulfasalazine, and hydroxychloroquine - plus the corticosteroid prednisolone. This combination is used primarily for treating rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory autoimmune conditions. The triple DMARD combination provides comprehensive immunomodulation while prednisolone offers rapid symptom relief during the initial treatment period before the DMARDs reach full effectiveness. In clinical practice, prednisolone is often tapered off after several weeks to minimize long-term side effects.
