Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This drug is a combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of methotrexate and vindesine. Methotrexate is a folate analog antimetabolite that inhibits dihydrofolate reductase, leading to inhibition of nucleotide synthesis and suppression of cell division, used in various cancers and inflammatory diseases. Vindesine is a vinca alkaloid that binds to tubulin, inhibiting microtubule formation which arrests mitosis at metaphase, leading to cancer cell death. The combination leverages different mechanisms targeting cancer cells at multiple points in the cell cycle for enhanced antitumor efficacy.
