Overview

A combination therapy used primarily for the treatment of nausea and vomiting, particularly in pregnancy. Metoclopramide acts as an antiemetic and promotility agent by blocking dopamine D2 receptors in the chemoreceptor trigger zone and increasing gastric emptying. Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) enhances the antiemetic effect. This combination is typically used as a secondary treatment option when first-line therapies such as antihistamines or doxylamine with vitamin B6 are ineffective.
