Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Metopimazine + prednisolone is a combination antiemetic therapy used primarily for the prevention and treatment of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting. Metopimazine is a phenothiazine antiemetic with antidopaminergic, antihistamine, and anticholinergic properties, while prednisolone is a corticosteroid. This combination has demonstrated superior efficacy compared to single-agent treatments, particularly in moderately emetogenic chemotherapy regimens. The combination is often used with a serotonin (5-HT3) receptor antagonist such as ondansetron or granisetron for enhanced antiemetic effect.
