Techsart-Beta 25 is an oral fixed-dose combination tablet containing telmisartan (40 mg) and metoprolol succinate extended-release (25 mg). Developed by Cytech Pharma, it is approved for the treatment of hypertension and cardiovascular risk reduction. Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that selectively antagonizes the Type-1 angiotensin II receptor (AGTR1), leading to vasodilation and decreased aldosterone secretion. It also acts as a partial agonist of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARG), which may provide additional metabolic benefits. Metoprolol succinate is a cardioselective beta-1 adrenergic receptor antagonist that reduces heart rate, cardiac contractility, and blood pressure.
