Metronidazole + bismuth subsalicylate + tetracycline is an oral fixed-combination antibacterial regimen marketed as **Helidac** for eradication of *Helicobacter pylori* in patients with active duodenal ulcer or a history of duodenal ulcer disease, typically given for 14 days together with an H2-receptor antagonist. The product combines three small-molecule anti-infective agents packaged together in daily blister cards: bismuth subsalicylate, which exerts local anti-*H. pylori* and mucosal protective effects; metronidazole, a nitroimidazole that undergoes reductive activation in susceptible organisms and damages DNA; and tetracycline, a protein synthesis inhibitor that binds the bacterial 30S ribosomal subunit. By attacking *H. pylori* through complementary mechanisms, the regimen is intended to eradicate infection and reduce recurrence of duodenal ulcer disease.
