mGIP(3-30) is a truncated peptide derivative of the mouse glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP). It acts as a high-affinity antagonist of the GIP receptor (GIPR) in mice, effectively inhibiting the physiological actions of endogenous GIP. Unlike full-length or agonist forms of GIP, mGIP(3-30) does not stimulate insulin secretion but instead blocks the insulinotropic and glucose-lowering effects mediated by native GIP peptides.
