Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MGL-2086 + resmetirom is an oral combination therapy being developed by Madrigal Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH). The combination consists of MGL-2086, a small molecule glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist, and resmetirom, a selective thyroid hormone receptor-beta (THR-β) agonist. By targeting both the GLP-1 and THR-β pathways, the therapy aims to provide synergistic effects on metabolic health, weight loss, and hepatic fat reduction, addressing the underlying drivers of MASH. It is currently in Phase 1 clinical development.
