Overview

MELT-210 is a clinical-stage sublingual drug candidate consisting of a fixed-dose combination of midazolam and alfentanil. Developed by Melt Pharmaceuticals (a subsidiary of Harrow), it is intended for procedural sedation and analgesia. The formulation utilizes a proprietary fast-dissolving technology designed to provide a needle-free, non-intravenous alternative for patients undergoing short medical procedures. Midazolam acts as a GABA-A receptor positive allosteric modulator to induce sedation, while alfentanil acts as a mu-opioid receptor agonist to provide analgesia. The program was acquired by Harrow as part of its strategic expansion into the procedural sedation market, complementing its lead candidate MELT-300.
