miR-145* (also known as miR-145-3p) is a microRNA that functions as a tumor suppressor. Traditionally identified as the passenger strand of the miR-145 duplex, miR-145* has been shown to be significantly downregulated in bladder cancer tissues and cell lines. Research indicates that miR-145* directly targets and regulates the expression of Ubiquitin-like, containing PHD and RING finger domains 1 (UHRF1). Restoration of miR-145* levels in cancer cells inhibits proliferation, migration, and invasion, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic target or agent in the treatment of advanced bladder cancer.
