Overview

Mirabegron + estrogen is a combination therapy involving mirabegron, a beta-3 adrenergic receptor agonist, and an estrogen preparation (typically local/vaginal estrogen). Mirabegron works by relaxing the detrusor smooth muscle of the bladder via stimulation of beta-3 adrenergic receptors, increasing bladder capacity and reducing symptoms of overactive bladder (OAB) such as urgency, frequency, and urge incontinence[1][2]. Estrogen therapy (usually administered locally as vaginal cream) is used to treat urogenital atrophy in postmenopausal women and may improve urinary symptoms by enhancing urethral epithelium health and local blood flow. The combination has been studied for women with OAB who are refractory to monotherapy; clinical trials have evaluated its efficacy compared to other combinations or monotherapies[4]. This regimen is not a fixed-dose commercial product but rather a therapeutic approach combining two approved drugs.
