Overview

This is a combination of two selective beta-3 adrenergic receptor agonists, mirabegron and vibegron. Both drugs act by stimulating the beta-3 adrenergic receptors in the detrusor muscle of the bladder, leading to relaxation of the bladder muscle and increased bladder capacity. This mechanism helps reduce symptoms associated with overactive bladder (OAB), such as urge urinary incontinence, urgency, and urinary frequency. Mirabegron was the first approved drug in this class (marketed as Myrbetriq), followed by vibegron (marketed as Gemtesa). Both are oral small molecules used primarily for OAB; mirabegron is also approved for neurogenic detrusor overactivity in children. The combination would theoretically provide additive or synergistic effects on OAB symptom control; however, there are no clinical studies or regulatory approvals for their combined use together as a fixed-dose product[1][2][3][4].
