Overview

Mirvetuximab soravtansine + bevacizumab is a combination therapy under investigation for the treatment of recurrent ovarian cancer and related gynecologic malignancies. Mirvetuximab soravtansine is an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) that targets folate receptor alpha (FRα) on tumor cells. It consists of a humanized monoclonal antibody linked to the cytotoxic agent DM4 (a maytansinoid), which disrupts microtubule function and induces cell death in FRα-expressing cancer cells. Bevacizumab is a monoclonal antibody that inhibits vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), thereby blocking angiogenesis required for tumor growth. The combination has shown promising antitumor activity and durable responses in patients with high FRα-expressing recurrent ovarian cancer who have progressed after platinum-based chemotherapy[2][3][5][8].
