Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of mitomycin C, a chemotherapy agent that produces double-strand DNA breaks, and veliparib, a PARP (poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase) inhibitor. This combination was studied in patients with solid tumors that have functional deficiency in homologous recombination repair, particularly those with defects in the Fanconi Anemia pathway. The combination works by mitomycin C creating DNA damage while veliparib blocks the enzymes needed for DNA repair, potentially leading to cancer cell death.
