Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Mitoxantrone Hydrochloride Liposome (PLM60) is a PEG-modified liposomal formulation of mitoxantrone, a synthetic anthracenedione antineoplastic agent. Developed by CSPC ZhongQi Pharmaceutical Technology, this formulation utilizes 60 nm vesicles to optimize pharmacokinetics, increasing drug concentration within tumor tissues while minimizing exposure to healthy organs such as the heart and kidneys. The drug functions by intercalating into DNA and inhibiting topoisomerase II, which leads to DNA strand breaks and the inhibition of nucleic acid synthesis. It is currently approved in China for the treatment of relapsed or refractory peripheral T-cell lymphoma (PTCL) and is being evaluated in clinical trials for other forms of Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
