Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Mitoxantrone liposome + cyclophosphamide + vincristine + prednisone** is a multi-agent chemotherapeutic regimen used in the treatment of hematologic malignancies, such as peripheral T-cell lymphoma (PTCL). Mitoxantrone liposome (also known as liposomal mitoxantrone or Lipo-MIT) is an anthraquinone antitumor drug encapsulated in liposomes to enhance stability, prolong circulation, improve tumor targeting, and reduce cardiac toxicity compared to conventional mitoxantrone[2][6]. Cyclophosphamide is an alkylating agent that damages DNA and inhibits tumor cell proliferation. Vincristine is a vinca alkaloid that interferes with microtubule formation and disrupts mitosis. Prednisone is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid with immunosuppressive and anti-inflammatory activities. Together, these agents act synergistically to induce cancer cell death through DNA damage, suppression of cell division, and inhibition of inflammatory responses. This regimen is most commonly administered via intravenous infusion for mitoxantrone liposome, cyclophosphamide, and vincristine, and orally for prednisone. The regimen is used for untreated or relapsed/refractory PTCL, and clinical trials have demonstrated a manageable safety profile and encouraging efficacy[2][6].
