mntSAR'877 is a murine surrogate non-targeted cytokine fusion protein developed by Sanofi for preclinical research. It consists of a mouse IgG2a Fc region fused to a mutated murine interleukin-15 (IL-15) / IL-15 receptor alpha sushi domain. Unlike its targeted counterpart mSAR'877 (which targets PD-1), mntSAR'877 serves as a non-targeted control to evaluate the efficacy of cis-targeting IL-15 to PD-1+ T cells. In preclinical mouse models, it is used to demonstrate that the anti-tumor activity of PD-1-targeted IL-15 fusion proteins (such as SAR445877) is superior to untargeted IL-15 stimulation. It functions as an IL-15 receptor agonist, promoting the expansion and activation of CD8+ T cells and natural killer (NK) cells.
