Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Modified Simiao Yong'an Soup granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation derived from the classic Simiao Yong'an Tang. It is being developed by Xiyuan Hospital of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences for the treatment of non-infectious uveitis, specifically for patients presenting with the 'heat toxin entering the collaterals' syndrome. The classic formula consists of Lonicerae Japonicae Flos (Jin Yin Hua), Scrophulariae Radix (Xuan Shen), Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Dang Gui), and Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gan Cao), which are traditionally used for their heat-clearing, detoxifying, and blood-activating properties. The modified version is adapted to target ocular inflammation, reduce recurrence, and improve visual acuity in uveitis patients.
