Modified sodium hyaluronate + recombinant elastin complex gel is an injectable composite dermal filler currently under clinical investigation in China for the correction of infraorbital hollows (tear trough deformities). Developed through a collaboration between the Affiliated Hangzhou First People's Hospital and Westlake University School of Medicine, the product is characterized as a biologic-device combination. It consists of modified sodium hyaluronate and recombinant human elastin, designed to replenish and augment the extracellular matrix components that diminish with age. By restoring the hyaluronic acid and elastin networks in the periorbital soft tissue, the gel aims to provide structural support and volume to the infraorbital region, thereby correcting hollowing and improving aesthetic appearance.
