Overview

This combination consists of **molgramostim** (granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor, GM-CSF) and **filgrastim** (granulocyte colony-stimulating factor, G-CSF), both recombinant hematopoietic growth factors. Molgramostim stimulates the proliferation and differentiation of progenitor cells into granulocytes (mainly neutrophils), monocytes, and macrophages, while filgrastim primarily stimulates the production and release of neutrophils from the bone marrow. The combination is used to **enhance mobilization and collection of peripheral blood progenitor (CD34+) cells**, especially after chemotherapy (e.g., high-dose cyclophosphamide), in patients undergoing autologous stem cell transplantation for hematological malignancies or certain solid tumors. Randomized phase III studies demonstrate that the concurrent administration of low-dose molgramostim and filgrastim is more effective at increasing the yield of CD34+ cells for transplantation than filgrastim alone, with an acceptable safety profile[2][3].
