Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination of three antiviral medications studied for potential synergistic effects against SARS-CoV-2. Molnupiravir is a nucleoside analogue that inhibits viral replication by introducing errors into the viral RNA. Nirmatrelvir is a SARS-CoV-2 main protease inhibitor that blocks viral replication. Ritonavir is a pharmacologic booster that slows the breakdown of nirmatrelvir. While molnupiravir and nirmatrelvir/ritonavir are each approved as separate treatments for COVID-19, they are not typically administered together as a standard combination therapy.
