Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Mometasone + terbinafine is a topical combination cream developed and manufactured by A.S. Lifesciences for the treatment of superficial fungal skin infections with an inflammatory component. The formulation typically contains 0.1% w/w mometasone furoate, a potent corticosteroid that activates the glucocorticoid receptor to alleviate inflammation, pruritus, and erythema, and 1.0% w/w terbinafine hydrochloride, an allylamine antifungal. Terbinafine works by inhibiting fungal squalene epoxidase, an enzyme essential for ergosterol synthesis in the fungal cell membrane, leading to the accumulation of squalene and fungal cell death. This dual-action product is indicated for conditions such as tinea corporis, tinea cruris, and tinea pedis when accompanied by inflammatory symptoms like eczema or dermatitis.
