Overview

**Morphine + oxycodone** is a fixed-dose, immediate-release dual-opioid analgesic developed by QRxPharma as **MoxDuo IR** and designated **Q8003**. It combined morphine sulfate and oxycodone hydrochloride in a 3:2 weight ratio in oral capsules for treatment of acute moderate-to-severe pain, including postoperative pain. Both components are opioid-receptor agonists that provide analgesia predominantly through activation of the mu-type opioid receptor. The program completed Phase 3 studies and an NDA was submitted in the United States, but FDA approval was not obtained; QRxPharma halted further development of the MoxDuo portfolio in August 2014.
